Time to stop and smell the flowers!

We've been a bit remiss in keeping our blog up-to-date. I got hooked on Facebook and neglected the important stuff. So, we shall try to keep up on the wonderful projects, service, teams, and good reports coming from Mission del Mar here in Honduras. Hope Cha-Cha and her bright red flower will help get us in your good graces.

Christian Motorcycle Association

Here is a photo of Pastor Jose Rivas Garcia, from Olanchito, who lost his leg and can't get around very well. He is also a supervisor of several other churches. We receive funds from CMA to purchase motorcycles every year for pastor/supervisors who meet a certain criteria. Friday, another Honduran pastor was blessed. Thank you CMA! Between the teams you send to us and the funds provided through the Run for the Son motorcycle ride every year, we see blessing after blessing manifest in this place!! God bless CMA!! NOTE: Normally, we buy Honda 125 with mountain tires to give out, but we bought this motorscooter so he wouldn't have any problem balancing on it. He's happy!

MARLIN, MARLIN, MARLIN, MARLIN

Hi, this is Marlin. Remember her? She was one of the kids sponsored for school right after we arrived here. She finished grade school and then went on to beauty school...She has graduated from that and now has started technical school in computers. She needs $1,000.00 US to take care of a year of schooling. And, her family is hoping for a donor who will pledge for 3 years so she can finish. Would you pray about getting involved with Marlin? Or, maybe one of our feeding centers. The donors have stopped giving to our feeding centers and we could use YOUR help in that area as well. There are presently 4 feeding centers and now they are receiving $45 a month to care for anywhere from 50 to 120 kids depending on the center. If you are interested in giving to the projects we have here in Honduras, contact MVI and ask about giving thru Scott and Susan Ledford to the children's projects for Honduras. FEBRUARY, 2012 ALREADY??

I can't believe we have not written anything since last year! Sorry. We were busy with a Christmas Team from Indiana, as well as some building projects around the mission house, a visit from Tal & Betty Owen, and a couple of birthdays...both Scott and I celebrated in January! But, I will get myself in gear and write, add some photos, and catch everyone up to date on the comings and goings and blessings at misión del mar. Happy New Year to Everyone! Got a jacuzzi tub to help me get through the healing process with my broken arm. (Yeah, right...that's what I told Scott.) Had 20 plus kids walk 10 kilometers to be at our house at 5:30 a.m. on Susan's birthday to sing and bring gifts and cards!! Amazin'! Helped Billy and Donna Hires give away a piano to a local music minister. What a blessing!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MISSIONARY..

These are a couple of photos after Caloi ran over a grave memorial and into a ditch. It took several hours and a tractor, a big truck, and several Honduran men to help Scott get it out. That's just the beginning. Now, we have to replace the grave memorial, hope the truck can be fixed properly, pay the doctor bills for someone who leaned up against our fence and got bit on the butt by our watchdog, Chili. He's trained to guard this place and he is the gentlest dog alive, but when someone trespasses, he is on the job....Please pray for: the lady who got bit on the tush, the family who had their memorial destroyed, and our precious Land Cruiser, Meadowlark. See! Sometimes we are under attack just like you. Praise the Lord! He knew what was coming...I thank Him for helping us be a blessing to everyone involved.

We Got to host some CMA Hotshots!!

Hiram Villasenor and his wife, Sharon, Evangelists for CMA, spent a couple of weeks with us. Part with a CMA team and part of it for some R & R for the two of them before a big trip through the Latin Countries sharing God's Word and giving away motorcycles. We are so blessed to partner with CMA each year at MVI giving away lots of motorcycles to pastor/supervisors around the world! God Bless you, Hiram and Sharon. That's Salma and Elvis on the right and the other men were here to receive a motorcycle for a man in the Olanchito area of Honduras.

ROARING DOWN THE ROADS OF HONDURAS

Well, November is here and a great team of people representing Christian Motorcycle Association. The photo includes 10 new bikes for Honduran Pastor/Supervisors and are being ridden to the service where they will be presented tonight!!

There is nothing in the world like the thrill of hearing all those bikes revved up and ready to ride! Well...parades are thrilling, but this is a parade!! Every year, CMA blesses us with several bikes to give away and this one is no exception. In a couple of hours, there will be some thrilled pastors, for sure. Thanks to CMA and all you members who make this possible through your faithfulness. God Bless Y'all!
